Wig Care Guide

Anaya Beauty Wig Care Guide

Wig Care is important for prolonging the life of your wig.

Wash your wig only as needed, If wearing regularly aim to wash the hair every 2 weeks.

If you use glue or gel on the lace please use an adhesive remover prior to washing.

First spray the lace with warm water apply adhesive remover or soap and with the use of a small soft bristle brush (i.e. toothbrush) gently rub the lace to lift the glue or tape residue from the lace.

After cleaning the lace place the wig on a Styrofoam wig head and  secure it with the use of T pins. To soften the hair and prevent unnecessary tension and pulling on the hair, first dampen the hair by spraying it with leave-in conditioner.

Use a wide tooth comb or detangling brush to remove any tangles or knots. Comb through the hair, starting at the ends first and then work your up to the base (root).

With your wig placed on the Styrofoam head Pour a dime sized amount of sulfate free shampoo and warm water into a spray bottle. Completely saturate the hair with the mixture. Distribute it evenly into the hair by raking your finger through the hair or using a wide tooth comb.

Do not rub the shampoo into the hair as it may cause tangling.

Sit the Styrofoam head in the sink and place the Styrofoam head under a gentle stream of lukewarm water and rinse out the shampoo.

Add sulfate-free conditioner and water in a spray bottle and saturate the hair.  Use a comb to evenly distribute the conditioner through the hair.  Let the conditioner sit on the hair for atleast 15 minutes and then rinse. Squeeze water out of the hair. Gently squeeze the water from the hair.

With the use of a towel gently blot the excess water from the hair. Sit the hair on a towel and allow it to completely air dry.

Do not use a hair dryer or any other heat source to reduce the drying time as this may lead to damage of the wig.

When the hair is completely dry you can proceed to style.

****Remove your wig nightly and place on a wig stand. This will preserve the life of your wig.****
